May 20th, 2024
It was almost eleven at night.
I set up my laptop in a corner of the McDonald's in front of my house.
Tap, tap, tap...
Today is the first day I've decided to blog to promote my website.
Tap, tap, tap...
My fingers are already tired from pounding away at VS Code at work during the day.
Tap, tap, tap...
But I keep typing. I should be diligent, at least on the first day.
The life of an office worker is not easy.
It's even harder if you're an office worker who is also a developer building a full-stack website alone after work.
Tap, tap, tap...
Marketing, huh. I majored in business administration in college and wrote about an 80-page marketing thesis in Europe.
Flipping through hundreds of pages of boring textbooks.
Skimming through hours of tedious academic PDFs.
Maybe that's why I still don't quite understand marketing.
My grandfather spent his whole life farming in the countryside.
Around four in the morning, he would get up diligently and trudge to the fields.
Wearing his shabby hat, he'd endure the blazing summer sun and only return around five or six in the evening.
When people in Seoul joke about wanting to retire and farm in the countryside, I wish them luck. They might really need it.
Now that I'm doing blog marketing, will they wish me luck too?
I think I'll need quite a bit of it.
